If you follow my pins on Pinterest, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of projects that re-purpose items typically discarded after too much use. Imagine my delight when I was assigned to Habitat for Humanity’s local ReStore warehouse as part of my law school’s Service Day.

Habitat for Humanity created ReStore to help raise funds for their overarching mission. According to their web site, Habitat’s ReStore outlets sell reusable and surplus building materials to the public. Most stores focus on home improvement goods like furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances.

ReStore outlets accept donated goods which are sold to the general public at a fraction of the retail price. The proceeds help local Habitat affiliates fund the construction of Habitat homes within their communities.
